The Yocto Project is happy to announce YP training taking place at the Pasadena Convention Center during SCaLE 15x, the Southern California Linux Expo, on Thursday March 2, 2017 and Sunday March 5, 2017. Note that Thursday is the day before SCaLE starts, so make your plans to arrive early and learn how to build custom embedded Linux distributions using the Yocto Project’s open source, high-quality infrastructure and tools, featuring the OpenEmbedded build system.
Course Descriptions & Requirements
The class on Thursday is the introductory course, taught by Tom King. Subjects covered include introducing the project's concepts such as recipes and layers, installing and configuring the build system, building from recipes, and much more.
Sunday's class is an advanced course taught by Behan Webster. Subjects include working with the Linux kernel and building and installing images, and much more.
There are no fees for these courses, but space is limited - first come, first served. There is room for up to 35 in each class, and we will accommodate as many as we can.
We encourage all participants to bring laptops running Linux, preferably with the YP tools already installed - see the Quick Start Guide for details.
